Paraphimosis in Dogs and Cats

Paraphimosis is an incredibly uncomfortable situation to be in for both pet and owner. This occurs when the penis is extended out of the sheath for over two hours (not technically an erection) and the penis can not retract. This can be caused by numerous situations for both dogs and cats - although it is far more frequent in dogs - and should be looked at by a veterinarian quickly. In this episode, I will explain what causes this to happen, what you should do if you see signs that this has happened and what you can do at home to treat it.
